7. Catalyst Handling Services
The required work from the contractors in this GBS includes but is not limited to provide catalyst handling, unloading, loading, and cleaning services of reactors, converters, FCC, vessels, columns and drums primarily within Saudi Aramco operations facilities.
8. Heat Treatment Services
This work will include:
- Preheating: a process of heating materials before the welding operation, using electric resistance or induction heating elements or pads or mats. This excludes the use of oxy-fuel torches or burners used by Mechanical Contractor for preheating as qualified and in accordance to the Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).
- Hydrogen Bake-Out or De-hydrogenation: a process to heat materials exposed to hydrogen service to temperature below the lower critical temperature, typically 250-350°C to remove dissolved hydrogen before carrying out any mechanical activities including weld repair. This may be carried out by electric resistance or inductance elements or pads or mats or by oxy-fuel process or internal gas firing using auxiliary burners.
- Post-Heating: a process to maintain welds at temperature similar to preheat or hydrogen bake-out for some time immediately after completion of welding operation. This is especially carried out for hardenable materials (e.g. Cr-Mo steels) and may be carried out using electric resistance or inductance elements or pads or mats, or internal firing using auxiliary burners. This excludes the use of oxy-fuel torches or burners used by Mechanical Contractor for postheating as per the WPS.
- Post Weld Heat Treatment (or Stress Relief Heat Treatment): process to relieve residual weld stresses or cold work stresses, typically carried out below the lower critical transformation and tempering temperatures. This may be carried out by electric resistance or inductance elements or mats, by internal gas firing using auxiliary burners or in stationary furnaces.
- Component Heat Treatment: for heat treating components or parts or complete vessels. Types of heat treatment include, but are not limited to Annealing (and quenching), Normalizing, Tempering or Stabilized Annealing. This may be carried out by electric resistance or inductance elements or pads or mats, by internal gas firing using auxiliary burners or in stationary furnaces.
- Refractory Bake-Out: this includes the use of electric resistance elements or auxiliary burners to cure refractory, for process equipment such as reactors where temperature control may be difficult or not possible using the primary burners.
9. Industrial Mechanical Maintenance
The required work from the contractors in this GBS includes but is not limited to hydro-test and maintenance work, repair, and renovation of vessels, columns, tanks, re-heaters, heat exchangers, after coolers, piping, flare tips, burn pits, boilers, cooling towers and other miscellaneous plant facilities.10. Catalyst Handling Services
The required work from the contractors in this GBS includes but is not limited to provide catalyst handling, unloading, loading, and cleaning services of reactors, converters, FCC, vessels, columns and drums primarily within Saudi Aramco operations facilities.
